Our last day ar sea was sadly a cloudy one. After another fab onboard breakfast we headed off for the pretty Man-o-War Cay. We took the mile walk from the beautiful bay and beach where we had anchored and gone ashore in the dinghy into the "town". In truth a small collection of residences, boat builders and gift shops. The whole community seems centred around the Albury family who seem to own everything including the famous (apparently) Albury Sail shop. They do not sell sails, but various handbags, totes and holdalls made from sail fabric, and the prices are eye watering. I saw one little purse/makeup bag, nothing more sophisticated than a pencil case really, $65, I kid you not. Anyway, here's a pic of the Albury ladies at their sewing machines.
We made our excuses and left the Sail Shop and wandered down to the ice cream kiosk for some refreshment. The ice creams were a mere $7 a pop for a double scoop, but that's the Bahamas for you! To be fair they were bloody good; we both took a coconut and pineapple, Jayne added a scoop of strawberry, with a key line sorbet for me.
Upon finishing our treats we briskly walked the mile or so back to the dinghy to board the Odyssea for a return to Marsh Harbour and our final evening meal with Lee and Paul, once again at Snappas.
