Having spent a second night at Marsh Harbour Marina, following a hearty breakfast we set off for open water. Our first stop was to be idyllic Scotland Cay (pronounced key). This low lying island is split by shallow cut throughs of white sand and coral beds. The colours are truly amazing., the azure blue of the sky, emerald green of the water, and of course the sugar like white sand.
We returned to the Odyssea very hot and salty and motored for a couple of hours to Green Turtle Cay and moored on a buoy in Black Sound. A very short trip in Odyssea's dingy took us to a jetty belonging to the Leeward Yacht Club. We were just bailing out some sea water that had got in during our exploits at Scotland Cay, when a large, fast, sports fishing boat drew up along side. "you guys need a hand?" they kindly hailed. Paul replied saying that we were fine thanks, and just looking forwards to a cool beer, upon which they produced two ice cold beers and handed them to us. What generosity.
Having consumed our beers on the quayside, we the walked up the the yacht club's modest restaurant and bar for more cold beers. The advantage of this particular bar is that it has a small pool for patrons. What bliss, to freshen our salty bodies whist drinking cold beer!
