Apologies folks, it has been a couple of days since our last post. Unfortunately there has been a mechanical problem with Odyssea's onboard generator; and no generator means no power sockets, and no power sockets means no device charging.
Another night at Green Turtle Cay and hooked up to a mooring buoy.. After beans on toast for breakfast we set out to explore New Plymouth. A sleepy and colourful town, with neatly kept pastel painted houses. It was hot, we saw a place advertising ice cream... we entered with the intention of having ice cream, but the ice cream wasn’t ready , fortunately for us, the beer was ready and cold! Result!.
In the afternoon we headed for Manjack Cay and dropped anchor. We took the dinghy through the mangroves on the search for turtles and rays. It was a cloudy day so it was quite difficult to spot them, but we did see a few starfish, a turtle and a nurse shark.
A little later we dinghyed round the headland to a beach to follow the "art trail" through the woods. Basically bits of flotsam and junk fashioned into various objects by visiting boaties.
Also on the beach is a swing in the shallows, and a blade that has been set up for the shucking of coconuts (yes, that is shucking).
We returned to the Odyssea for rum cocktails and then it was off to Green Turtle Marina for the night. We docked at the marina and went for a welcome dip in their pool. That night we took advantage of the restaurant and bar.
